The examination of the inside of the uterus and the tubal segments opening to the uterus with the help of an optical camera is called hysteroscopy. Hysteroscopy is performed within the first 3-4 days after the end of the menstrual cycle. The first reason for this is to avoid damage in case of an unintentional possible pregnancy. The second reason is to get a better view of the uterine cavity. Hysteroscopy, a vaginal procedure, is performed by entering through the cervix with a special optical camera. When entering the uterus with a hysteroscope from the cervix, a fluid is administered to dilate the uterine cavity to see the inside of the uterus at the same time. Meanwhile, the image taken is mirrored and viewed on the monitor. Hysteroscopy, which is used with two methods, diagnostic or surgical, is also performed with the help of suitable instruments at the tip of the hysteroscope if necessary. The hysteroscopy is performed under local and general anaesthesia in the operating room. After the hysteroscopy, the patient can return home the same day.
